2022 Players: Billy Horschel (illness) WDs on final day at TPC Sawgrass

PONTE VEDRA BEACH—Billy Horschel withdrew from the Players Championship before its 8:00 a.m. resumption Monday morning.
According to the PGA Tour, Horschel pulled out of the tournament due to a non-COVID related sickness. Golf Channel reports that Horschel has been dealing with a sinus infection.
At the time of his WD Horschel was even par for the tournament and his third round. Because he made the cut Horschel will make just over $40,000 but will not be rewarded FedEx Cup points.
Horschel, 35, was coming off a runner-up finish last week at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and entered the Players ranked 31st in the FedEx Cup. He was not scheduled to play this week at the Valspar Invitational. He is the defending champ at the WGC-Match Play, which begins in two weeks.
Horschel is the fifth player to withdrew mid-tournament at the 2022 Players Championship, joining Danny Lee, Henrik Stenson, Si Woo Kim and Luke List.
