Ben Griffin had jokes after finding out he'd been nominated for PGA Tour Player of the Year

It's already been an incredible year for Ben Griffin and yet this promises to be the best week so far. The 29-year-old isn't playing golf anywhere, but he is getting married. And on Wednesday, he learned that he was one of four nominees for the PGA Tour's Player of the Year Award.
That's pretty heady stuff for a guy who hadn't won on tour before 2025 and who once (briefly) walked away from pro golf for a 9-to-5 desk job. But you don't have to be a former mortgage loan officer to crunch the numbers and figure out that Griffin won't be winning the award.
That honor, of course, will be going to Scottie Scheffler. Once again.
The World No. 1 won six times, including two majors, so it's just a matter of time before he collects a fourth consecutive Jack Nicklaus trophy. But in the meantime, Ben had jokes about the situation, reposting a PGA Tour Instagram story highlighting his own impressive numbers (including his first three PGA Tour titles) with the following caption:
"There's no way I lose this..."
There's actually no way he wins, but Ben obviously knows that. And he knows there's no shame in losing to Scottie.
Fellow nominees Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood are in the same boat, Ben. But like with the Heisman Trophy finalists, it's at least nice to be invited to the party.
