Is this famous Riviera par 3 too unfair? Beau Hossler weighs in (plus, the golf influencer saga!)

Any time a tour pro complains about the difficulty, or "unfairness," of a golf hole, there are two schools of thought. The first? Tough sh-t. The second? Well.... maybe he's got a point...

Adam Schenk, who missed the cut at the Genesis Invitational, made some very interesting points about the tricky par 3 in a series of tweets on Sunday. Oddly enough, he parred the hole in both rounds he played, though he did not hit the green either time. As stats guru Justin Ray pointed out, the hole finished the week with a green-in-regulation percentage of 15.4 percent, making it the most difficult green to hit in any PGA Tour event for a single week since the 2008 Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. 

Beau Hossler, who did make the cut and tied for 24th, shared some similar thoughts to Schenk on this week's episode of The Loop podcast. Hossler went much deeper than just saying it's too hard or unfair. Like Schenk, he agreed that it has a lot more to do with the grass type around the green:
