Bay Hill: Day leads Stenson by two
Jason Day continued his hot play at the Arnold Palmer Invitational on Friday, shooting a bogey-free seven-under par 65 in the second round, the best score of the day at Bay Hill Club in Orlando.
"It's great to be there [13-under], I'm so happy to be there, but the average is 13 or 14-under that wins around here," said Day. "I'm definitely way above average, and I just had it going on during the last two days."
The Swede Henrik Stenson is in sole possession of second place at 11-under, two strokes back, following a second round six-under 66. Justin Rose shot the same score and is in third place, three shots off the lead.
Adam Scott, in pursuit of his third consecutive PGA Tour victory, shot a one-over 73 and fell to four-under and is tied for 23rd place.
Rory McIlroy shot a five-under 67 on Friday following a disappointing first round, when he shot 75. At two-under, he is 11 shots off the lead.
The cut was even-par 144, which eliminated two-time defending champion Matt Every, Matt Kuchar and Luke Donald.
