Woods looking to build momentum Friday
PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla. - It says something about the state of alert surrounding Tiger Woods' game that a drive in the fairway constitutes news, but here it is:
The world No. 1, coming off a fairly convincing opening-round 70, split the 10th fairway with a 3-wood off the tee to begin his second round. Wearing an aqua (teal? turquoise?) shirt on what promises to be another muggy day in north Florida, Woods went on two-putt for par and remains four shots off the lead.
Meanwhile, for the second straight year, Alex Cejka finds himself in the mix at TPC Sawgrass. A year after he went off in the final group alongside Woods en route to a T9 finish, Cejka birdied two of his first four holes and is a shot behind leaders Bo Van Pelt (who birdied two of his first three holes), Robert Allenby, and J.B. Holmes.
