Alabama women still No. 1 in coaches' poll

In the latest Golf World/NGCA women's coaches' polls, Alabama, Nova Southeastern and Methodist remain the teams everyone is looking up at.

Alabama maintained its hold on the top spot in the latest Golf World/NGCA D-I coaches' poll but USC has closed the gap on the Crimson Tide. Mic Potter's squad had all 23 first-place votes last month but this time around earned only 10 of the 18 available. The Trojans earning the other eight after beating Alabama at the Allstate Sugar Bowl Intercollegiate.

Other D-I highlights:

Nova Southeastern claimed 13 of the 14 first-place votes in the D-II coaches' poll. The Sharks earned their third tournament title of the 2010-11 season with a 22-stroke victory at the Lady Moc Claddic and have now won 12 of their last 16 starts dating back to September 2009.

Methodist claimed 14 of 20 first-place votes to again claim the No. 1 spot in the D-III women's coaches' poll. The 13-time defending NCAA champs being their spring season at next week's Jekyll Island Invitational.
