As it is every year, the Masters was the runaway winner for TV ratings of the four majors in 2026.

NBC Sports released its ratings numbers for last week’s Open Championship at Royal Birkdale, won by Ryan Fox, and the final-round coverage averaged 4.3 million on NBC and Peacock. Those were the best Sunday numbers since 2022, though come with the caveat that viewership now includes Nielsen Big Data + Panel. Masters Sunday, with Rory McIlroy earning his second straight green jacket, prevailed by more than triple, averaging nearly 14 million viewers on CBS. That network also had the second-largest majors Sunday, drawing 5.7 million for Aaron Rai’s win in the PGA Championship at Aronimink. The U.S. Open on NBC, captured by Wyndham Clark at Shinnecock Hills, was slightly behind that at 5.5 million.
