Why We Like It
- These familiar head and hosel styles received a bold upgrade in the form of a carbon-steel face insert for a softer feel.
- The insert is fused to the milled stainless-steel body and an aerospace-level vibration-damping adhesive.
- Although carbon steel can typically degrade, this insert uses a chemical process to protect the steel, enhance hardness and preserve feel.
- The face insert features a chain-link-style milling pattern developed with tour-player input to produce a softer feel and consistent speed off the face.
- As has been the case for two decades, the body is milled from 303 stainless steel.
- Top 5 in Performance, all handicaps
- Models: Newport, Newport Plus, Newport 2, Newport 2 Plus, Newport 2.5 Plus, Squareback, Squareback 2, Catalina. Head weights: 345, 355, 365 grams. Lengths: 33-35 inches. Loft: 3.5 degrees.

I love having this putter in my hands. Just fun to look at and use. Sounds a bit loud. No mistaking that you've made contact with the ball. Good energy. Ball gets rolling in a hurry with no skipping or hopping.

Really like the longer putter look and hybrid mallet-blade combination. Rolled well towards the hole and on longer putts. You could be slower and methodical because you felt like you had a longer putter in your hands.

Almost weightless when it goes through the ball. Anywhere on the insert the feel is the same. It's luxury.

Looks and plays like a mallet. The weighting is perfectly distributed—makes it easy to keep putts on line and get the right distance. Not too explosive off the face, just right.

I like the head style—proportional, rounded and soft. Satin finish is also very nice. As far as playability goes, it provides great feedback. Face is very lively. Delivers a great roll and tremendous speed control and accuracy.

Perfect click at impact. Distance control is exceptional. Everything about this feels like a customized car built to your specs. Takes the stress out of putting when you have a unified feel, swing balance and roll like this.

Puts a consistent roll on the ball on mis-hits because you have the entire face insert working for you. Really well-balanced. The insert is soft but the face milling pattern puts a nice, forward, topspin roll on the ball.

Really easy to square the face to your ball and start line and roll putts straight. Distance control is natural. Slight mis-hits lose no distance across forgiving insert.

I felt like I was holding the future of blade putters in my hand. It's got a very striking, memorable look to it, with the contrast of colors in the finish framing the ball nicely. The ball rolls true to its line. Speed control is very easy. Extra depth to face ensured stability through the entire stroke.

Performs like a blade putter with training wheels. Tries to prevent bad strokes and impacts from happening. I sensed it was mitigating the worst parts of my putting. Firm but gentle feel at impact; gently ushers the ball toward the hole.

Nice responsiveness on the mill pattern on the face. Pretty stable weighting from heel toe. Easy to swing. Overall elegance just dominates this entire field of putters, like they added a layer of contrast without it being jarring or gimmicky.

Really sharp lines, exudes elegance. Insert strays some from the sharp-milled faces that Scotty Cameron usually has. Soft, muted, quiet sound. Easy to tell where you hit it on the putterface. If you don't hit it on the insert, it feels and performs different.

The unique reverse plumber’s-neck hosel helps to shift the putter’s balance point between shaft and head to make it easier to square the face at impact.
The benefit of the hosel is that unlike other designs that reduce or eliminate torsional resistance, this version does not force the hands forward with an angled shaft.
Because the shaft is aligned with the head’s center of mass, the putter face stays square to the path of the stroke to eliminate unreliable hand action.

Compared to the single-piece milled versions in the company’s line, these models provide more forgiveness with a greater resilient face material.
The polymer material in the face, known as Pebax, is found in running shoes. It stretches the width of the face to provide a consistent energy transfer and soft feel.
The array of models accommodates strokes with a slight arc (Anser, Anser 2D, B63) and those with a stronger arc (Anser 4).
