Woodstock Inn & Resort
Overview
The history runs deep at Woodstock Inn & Resort, which boasts the oldest public golf course in Vermont. In the 1960s, resort owner Laurence S. Rockefeller hired Robert Trent Jones Sr. to redesign its course, just as Rockefeller did with his golf courses at Mauna Kea in Hawaii and Colonial Williamsburg. Woodstock has maintained its reputation as one of New England’s best, particularly so during the fall when the leaf peepers come into town. PGA Tour winner Keegan Bradley also helped keep Woodstock on the map, as this was his home course as a junior golfer. The resort recently rebuilt bunkers on its fourth and sixth holes, which were part of Trent Jones’ original design.
