Overview
Time, and previous renovations, tend to shrink and constrict golf courses. The mission of this remodel by architect Keith Foster was to return Brook Hollow’s worn features to a better iteration of its first-generation A.W. Tillinghast design. Foster achieved magnificent results by accentuating the pedestal-like greens and bringing back their squared-off edges, installing steep-faced bunkers (as opposed to their previously flashed faces) and re-introducing several of Tillinghast's “great hazard” sand wastelands on holes like the par-5 15th.

“Classic Tillinghast design with excellent shot options and layout variety. Squared off green complexes that are very large. Course condition was spectacular given it was their three day invitational. Both fairways and greens were firm and fast."

“Brook Hollow looks like a mid-Atlantic course transported to Texas. The green complexes are tremendous. In 2020 it was expertly restored back to the original Tillinghast design. This low-key course is a hidden gem. It deserves more national notoriety."

“Fabulous club and golf course. Recent renovation by Keith Foster is spectacular and the course is playing great. Absolutely play here if you are given the opportunity. The 10th hole, right by the clubhouse and golf shop, is a really great theater for golf."

“Great renovation of old school course in Dallas. Well known locally for tight hallway fairways over the years; now back closer to the original Tillinghast design after the removal of over 400 trees throught out the course. Addition of sandy waste areas and scrub grass bring to mind the relatable characteristics of Pine Valley-esque course design. Good elevation changes atypical of Dallas area and rolling hills give each hole more distinctive differentiation. Course condition is immaculate, even in the late fall with bermuda becoming dormant. Tight fairway lies but soft conditions allow elevated shot options into the soft bent grass green complexes. Bunker designs also re-done back to the original design, steep sloping sides slide down to flat bottom sand traps. Well done re-do a couple years ago, classic design, old school feel for a local institution in Dallas golf!"

“Golden Era design by A.W. Tillinghast that was recently restored by Keith Foster. Old style course in the middle if north Dallas with a very welcoming staff. Hole #10 is one great little par 3. Course is very private but if offered the opportunity, don't pass on the chance to play."

“A wonderfully unique golf experience for North Texas nestled near downtown Dallas. The course sits on a surprisingly sandy site and harkens back to Tillinghast's original design from 1920, with large sandy native areas, large pines, and wonderful vistas across much of the property. If you are one of the lucky few invited to play, drop everything and enjoy the experience."

“Great traditional design; really have to think your way around. Fairway bunkers should be avoided at all costs - they are deep and difficult. Course conditioning and amenities good; decent overall service although not outstanding."
