Overview
This Donald Ross design dates back to the 1920s and today is owned by the City of Chattanooga. Though the conditioning of the fairways can vary, our panelists note that the greens often roll well. At under 6,500 yards from the tips, the historic tree-lined course is playable for the average golfer.

“Brainerd is a great Donald Ross municipal that is ripe for a restoration. Nine of the holes include the original Ross greens while the other 9 have been redesigned. The course is playable, and greens are good, but if restored it could be really special."

“Firm and fast municipal! I was pleasantly surprised by this course. It's firm and it's dry. The ball will bounce and roll. Great variety in the holes and pleasantly surprised by the smoothness of the greens. This was one of the better munis I've played and would support this place if I lived here. Be prepared to hit off dirt but I think that adds to the fun."
