Overview

Barsebäck Golf and Country Club, which sits on the windblown shores of the Öresund Sea, is the previous host of the Scandinavian Masters and 2003 Solheim Cup and is home to 36 holes of stunning golf split between the Ocean (formerly Masters) and Pine courses. The Ocean debuted in 1969 and was designed by Ture Bruce, while the Pine course followed in 1989 courtesy of Donald Steele. Since their debuts, the courses have undergone significant renovations. In 2007, The Ocean course underwent a full-scale renovation and most recently, in 2022, the club removed trees and bushes to create more dramatic views out to the sea. The Ocean is the harder of the two courses and has a truly unique routing incorporating elements of parkland, woodland and links-style courses. The round begins with fairways that meander through towering pine trees before being routed traveling downhill toward the waters edge, and then once again back into the pines for the closing holes. Barsebäck’s iconic stretch is undoubtedly from the ninth to 11th, where each hole is routed alongside the beaches of the picturesque Öresund Sea.
