“The ironically-named Dakota Dunes Country Club is a mostly tree-lined Arnold Palmer design from the early 1990s that winds through a housing development adjacent to the Missouri River. The course has many elements of Palmer designs of that era: a risk-reward par 5 along water, a long par 4 9th hole, and a healthy mix of shorter and longer holes that cant in all directions. The mature trees that line most holes are certainly larger than they were 35 years ago, and as such the course probably plays tighter than the designer intended. This forces a decision about a club other than driver on a number of holes that should probably play easier. However, a walk through the relatively flat terrain of Dakota Dunes is quite pleasant and is a more than worthy challenge for most golfers. Unless you are long and straight off of the tee, this course can be a brute."

“Nice routing but too narrow in places most likely due to housing in this community course, Good condition."

“A piece of South Carolina in South Dakota. A large sand bar from the Missouri river plays a prominent role on the finishing holes, while the inland holes weaved through mature trees, challenging the golfer to work the ball each direction to best position themselves for the approach."

“Very nice private club outside Sioux City Iowa. It is in very nice condition and is fun to play."

“Palmer design that is more like a Nicklaus design. A few quirks such as the par 5 where you have to lay up to an area about 10 yards wide. Last 3 holes are a test."
