Overview
A par-70 layout with a slope and rating of 74/145 from the back tees, the George Fazio course at Palmetto Dunes Resort is a tough test. That said, it is a slicer-friendly track, with much of the out-of-bounds and serious trouble off the tee coming on the left side, away from a typical slicer’s miss. Unlike the sibling Arthur Hills layout at the Hilton Head Island resort, which has very few fairway bunkers, there are many large bunkers in play off the tee on the Fazio, though with shallow lips, they aren’t too penal. Still, encroaching trees, angled water hazards and a variety of tricky green shapes make the Fazio arguably the most challenging of the three courses at Palmetto Dunes Resort.

“Very resort friendly course. Trouble left but wide open right which makes it playable for 90% of public who fade or slice the ball. The views, wild life, and plant life including palm trees reminded me more of a Florida course than a Hilton head course but aesthetically pleasing. It was fun track to play. Fast pace of play in good conditon with slow greens and not very challenging except for a few holes with water guarding the greens. Decent variety in hole lay out and Par 3 lenghts except for all holes having bailouts to the right. Memorable enough where three to 4 holes stand out. Was better than Palmetto Hall, Oyster Ridge and Port Royal which I played while there"

“A fun course with the most scenic bunkers you will ever see. Near-perfect greens and overall great conditions. Hard par-3's. There is OB on the left every hole but none on the right--built for slicers. Four sets of tees allow for every skill level. A little pricey, but great golf."
