“Golden Age Herbert Strong design that has hosted multiple USGA Championships. Challenging in that the rough is thick and deep with well-placed and deep fairway bunkers. Well-conditioned with fast and smooth greens, Number 15 is one of the better long par 5's you'll play. The club and its membership were very welcoming. Don't pass on the opportunity to play here if invited."

“A good test, good enough for the professionals. Good conditioning ending with receptive greens that were speedy."

“I found the front 9 to be very ordinary and not distinctive at all. Back 9 was better but just OK. Better design variety than the front. Good finishing hole"

“Great flow from hole to hole. Layout makes you think on every tee. High rough demands balls in the fairways. Par 5's can be reachable but well placed bunkers guarding the greens make it high risk reward. Overall, fantastic layout with a routing that would be enjoyable on a daily basis"

“The Old Course is a tale of two nines. The front 9 is very flat, with a cluster of holes that really lack "pop", with the exception of 9th. The bunkering and green complexes are rather simple, often electing for large bunkers and larger flatter greens. This leads to a fairly unmemorable front 9 that solely relies on length for challenge. The back 9 contrasts the front 9, with rolling hills, small blunker clusters and severe greens setting up for a fun and memorable 9 holes. The stretch of 9-14 is arguably the best on the course, with a combination of solid one and two shotters. My favorite was the shortish 13th. From a visual perspective the bunker clusters made this very appealing off the tee. The longer player can drive one up near the green, where as the shorter player will have to traverse these two sets of clusters. The green is ideal for a shorter hole, with a small and undulating complex. Overall, I think a removal of some trees along with the addition of some native areas would help bring some beautiful sightlines back to this course as well as break the monotony that plagues the front 9."

“An amazing course with a storied history. Each hole brings a unique flavor to the round and challenges the best of golfers. Avoid the fairway bunkers as you won't be hitting the green from them. Truly a remarkable course that will create long term memories!"

“A perennial second-tier tournament host (incl. Womens Open, the US Senior Open for the third time in 2022), this is a great old course at a stately old club. The conditioning is excellent, the holes are varied (spoiler alert: 18 is a bit of a let-down), and the setting is really picturesque and nice. So are the members- friendly and welcoming."

“Pretty flat layout compared to the other courses there. Good but not outstanding conditions."

“Neat club with a great caddie program. The Old Course has a lot of history; the golf course is difficult but not necessarily unique or all that enjoyable."

“A great mix of short and long holes with strategically placed bunkering around the course. Both fades and draws are demanded due to the diverse design variety the old course presents. Very challenging and undulating greens that presented many great pin placement opportunities"
