““Manies” (as the locals refer to it) is another hidden-gem William Flynn design in the Philadelphia area. Short in length at 6,833, this layout features small greens and a meandering stream that comes into play on many holes. Since many trees have been removed over the past five years, the venue is more open and forgiving to errant shots. Flynn’s use of the small quarry to hide his fun little par 3 8th hole and the elevation drop form the Clubhouse reinforce the creative variety of the layout. The sequencing of par 3s, 4s and 5s also offer a flow that keeps the interest of the player. Accuracy is more important than length. The numerous doglegs also present risk/reward angles that elevate the golfing experience. Avoid the ever-present stream, manage the swirling wind and find the proper area of the green and a good score can be had."

“The course is a treat, with well conditioned holes moving up and down hills throughout the land, with winding streams and a quarry that makes a couple of appearances. The par 3, 8th hole is sure to be one of the more unique holes you've ever played. Add all of the above with an eminently walkable, open viewed course and you have a great day ahead of you if you can make it out to Manufacturers! The halfway house is also quite the treat, with a lovely set up in a barn that you pass a couple of times during the round. Enjoy!"

“Fantastic piece of property with a large stream running through the center providing beautiful approach shots to the greens. Immaculate conditions with receptive greens that have great character. The par 3 eigth hole is one of the scariest 120 yard shot you can have."

“Manufacturers' is one of several excellent classic William Flynn designs around Philadelphia that are well-worth seeing. Located on a hilly property, Flynn expertly routed this course with great variety in terms of uphill, downhill, and level holes. A central quarry in the property plays prominently on three holes - 11, 16, and 8, which sits in the center of the quarry and is one of the more memorable short par threes you'll ever play. The five par threes as a whole are a real strength of the course and range from a short pitch at the 8th to long irons and woods on 6, 11, and 13 that are sure to challenge good players. While not overly long and fairly open tee-to-green, these greens and their surroundings offer significant challenges as well and local knowledge is helpful around them. Recent tree removal has enhanced the aesthetics as you can see much of the property from other holes here. This is a great course for member play and is definitely one to play when in the area."
