Overview
Tulsa Country Club was designed in the late 1910s by famed architect A.W. Tillinghast, one of just two courses in Oklahoma with this pedigree. Now located in a neighborhood not far northwest of downtown (it was countryside when first built), the design doesn't have much Tillinghast left in it after years of remodels, including one in the 1980s by the late Jay Morrish and another in 2010 by Rees Jones. Though more modern in appearance today than its vintage might indicate and in need of continued tree removal, Tulsa is finely conditioned course full of mild doglegs and elevated greens set above inset bunkers.

“Great use of an urban property with gently rolling terrain and many mature trees. Six sets of tees plus five combo tees and a golfer of any ability can find the right length course. Nice variety in the hole layouts and bunker positioning."

“Beautiful treelined golf course with a good mix of long and short holes. This course has a variety of uphill and downhill holes that follow the natural slope of the existing terrain. The greens were very undulating and were all sloped back to front. Approximately half the greens/pins can be accessed by running the ball up, while the other half are elevated and tucked in behind greenside bunkers. Many of the greens have false fronts. There are a couple of extreme doglegs, otherwise, the holes all have a gentle flow to one side or the other. Many bunkers and water hazards to maneuver during the round. "

“Original Tillinghast design with Rees Jones remodel in 2011. 7000 yard par 70 with tree lined fairways which put a emphasis on driving the ball straight. If you did find the trees, most holes allowed a punch run up shot to get on a portion of the green. Good variety of short and long holes. Short holes had green design the emphasis accuracy with the 2nd shot. While the longer par 3 and 4s allowed for shots to feed onto the green towards the flag. Very fun course to play with a very traditional feel."
