BRIAN OAR - FAIRWAYS PHOTOGRAPHY

Overview
You would never know you’re less than 30 miles from the hustle and bustle of the Las Vegas Strip at this Pete Dye design, surrounded by barren desert and jagged peaks. In typical Dye fashion, there are plenty of risk-reward holes, including the split fairways at the par-5 sixth and the par-4 17th. The island green at the par-3 15th closely resembles Dye’s signature 17th at TPC Sawgrass’ Stadium Course.

“This course was a lot of fun to play. It offers a wide variety of hole types, lengths, distances, and shapes. Many holes can be approached in different ways with options off of the tee and on approaches. I played off-season, but the course was in great shape. The island green 15th is the signature hole and is a lot of fun, but the others are nothing to sleep on. Further, the restaurant/bar has a great overlook onto the golf courses, with the mountains in the back. Food comes out fast, and the cajun chips are fantastic!"

“Located 30 mins northwest of the Las Vegas Strip, this Pete Dye course opened for play in 2001. The tournament tees are over 7600 yds, the longest in Nevada. The course is in very good condition and the greens roll true. Lots of strategic fair and greens side bunkering and some very good desert golf. A challenging course when the wind is blowing."
