“A great public/muni option in an area of the country that is dominated by well known private clubs. The “Hill” takes advantage of interesting topography to create a good variety of holes that present a challenge to the best golfers while making it a fun track for golfers of all skill level to play. A wide range of shots are required to navigate the course. And the conditioning is pretty good when taking into account the amount of play and likely resources the club has available. The course is definitely worth playing"

“One of the better public courses in New Jersey, Galloping Hill features a classic design touched by numerous architects including most recently Rees Jones in 2013. It hosted the 2016 NJ State Open and became the first public course to do so. There are definitely some fun holes here such as the par 4 3rd, par 4 8th, or par 4 14th and the conditions are generally above average. I wouldn't go out of my way to play the course but I do recommend it to those in the area and those willing to make the drive from New York City."
