Overview
Designed by the legendary Arnold Palmer in 2002, the Golf Club of New England sits on 450 acres of reclaimed farmland and is said to be one of the staunchest tests of golf in the area. The course is devoid of residential developments and is routed through natural landscape, showcasing stone walls, oak tree-lined fairways and running brooks, creating an aura of tranquility. While the environment provides ample relaxation, the brutish 7,600-yard golf course re-focuses the golfer’s attention with fescue and wetland areas protecting fairways and putting surfaces throughout. The challenge at the Golf Club of New England culminates with the signature par-3 17th, played over a hazard to a Y-shaped green protected by deep bunkers behind it.

“A sprawling 7600yd monster, but with generous fairways, large greens and six sets of tees. Pick the yardage you think you want to play and go one tee shorter, due to significant carries. Firm and fast conditions. Worth seeing and playing if you get invited."

“A course that flowed with the country side with rocks, trees, streams, and well placed bunkers. Fun to play."

“If you can get on to play it, do it. Fantastic layout and a very challenging track. #5 is a 660 yd par 5 that is probably a 3 shot hole for almost anyone. A big hitter might be tempted to get there in 2, but is it worth the risk? The green is very well protected. #17 is 221 to a green that looks rather small given all the trouble around it. Water to the left, bunkers long and nothing good short. There is some room to the right, but getting up and down from there would be tough. Middle of the green is the target."

“Excellent private club that is very tough. Lots of carries over marshlands and creeks. Great variety of holes and very walkable. Must play if you can get access. One of the best courses in New England"
