Overview
Just north of Concord, New Hampshire, is the 1920s era gem, Lake Sunapee Country Club. The prestigious course was designed by Donald Ross and is routed through old forests and rolling hills, with open driving areas and undulating green complexes protected by sinister false fronts and challenging greenside bunkering. In recent years, Ron Forse completed an extensive renovation project focused on returning elements from the original design, which came in the form of bunkers being added back into original locations, expanded green complexes and extensive tree removal, bringing back stunning views of the surrounding mountains. Firm-and-fast conditions along with an enjoyable routing for walking make Lake Sunapee a top-class playing experience.

“Lake Sunapee is a hidden gem in New England. While it doesn't get much attention, it combines strategically designed golf holes with gorgeous scenes of nearby mountain ranges. It should be discussed as the best golf course in New Hampshire."

“A pretty good old Ross course with big elevation changes. Generally has pretty good conditions, but could probably use a significant renovation/restoration to return it to being one of the best in course in New Hampshire"

“While 16-18 are a strong stretch of finishing holes (although 16 is probably more of a par 5 than 17) half the holes on the course are wide open with limited penalty for misses. Deep carved 1920's style bunkers speckled throughout with #7 being a classic Donald Ross design with chocolate mounds and good water hazard incorporation. Many rough spots all over the course in need of a maintenance overhaul."
