“Bobby Weed transformed a 27-hole course into an 18-hole routing with a new putting course, chipping area, driving range, and other amenities on the property. The original Donald Ross routing (front nine) remains largely intact, but has been transformed by Weed. The front nine (par 35) is tight, borderline claustrophobic, with some back tee shots perilously close to adjacent greens. It is largely flat and extremely walkable, with tees adjacent to greens, etc. Aside from the picturesque par 3 4th hole, the best golf is on the more spacious back nine, which borrowed some good holes from the previous routing. The par 5 12th is a glorious mountain par 5 with a small babbling brook cutting across the fairway and raising angst on the approach shot. The following hole, while no doubt controversial, is a short dogleg right par 4 with the fairway and green effectively carved into a hillslope. The long par 4 16th is the best hole on the course and calls for a fade off the tee and a draw over a creek that fronts the severely sloping green at an angle. Every bunker on the course is dead flat, which means that bunkers are benched into hills and sit at various levels. There are many tee options, and the forward tees nearly eliminate forced carries. Greens are exceptionally tricky, with subtle minor slopes embedded into the larger, more general slopes. The greens add a significant element to the overall challenge presented. Green surrounds have large areas cut to fairway height before transitioning to heavier rough. This is good resort golf. It’s walkable, picturesque, in great shape, and you won’t lose many balls."

“A good track that is worth a visit. The course is very gettable and requires several different types of shots to score. While it is not difficult the course will play tough if you struggle to keep it in the fairway or hit greens."
