“An Andrew Green redesign in 2020, this course offers a unique scenic course thru a nature preserve which does not possess a single bunker - but a design element called a hummock which helps protect green complexes and fairways. Many drop-offs around greens funnel balls away from the greens and subtle yet consequential breaks in the relatively flat greens help in its challenge marks. Many greens are slightly plateaued. A very good walking course as its relatively flat and a very nice municipal course."

“A municipal course near Annapolis recently renovated by Andrew Green, The Preserve at Eisenhower was quite disappointing when I played. First, the conditioning was overall very poor with overgrown teeboxes, rough filled with crabgrass and hardpan, and plenty of barren patches in the fairway. The layout of the course weaves around a swampy tree-lined property and features lots of "target golf" with few shot options for the golfer. It is not easy either, beginning with five long par fours and plenty of danger for those who stray offline. The variety is also lacking, with two of the par fives (12 and 16) essentially playing the same, as forced lay-up dogleg rights with an iron off the tee. Two of the par threes play long over a hazard (8 and 13) while the other three are medium length also over a hazard. The Preserve may be a decent option for locals if it were in better shape, but Maryland is a good public golf state and this is not in my top 10."

“New clubhouse just starting. Unique course with no sand bunkers. Back nine is solid and a good test of golf."

“The Preserve at Eisenhower blends a unique bunkerless. The tee to green renovation of the course was done in tandem with a stream renovation. Makes this course very fun to play and a great value."

“Fun course between Annapolis and Baltimore. The new grass on the fairways and greens are really good and very playable. The large greens with no surrounding bunkers make it fun to play short game shots."

“Not a single bunker on the entire course but architecturally creative thick fescue-topped mounds (hummocks) strategically placed around greens and in fairways. Intriguing alternating par 5s and 3s from holes 12-17 but no shorter par 3s, 4s or 5s on the card and 124 slope is unfortunately probably fairly accurate at this stage. First 5 holes are all long par fours. Needs a lot of manicuring and care over these next 2-5 years to have a chance to fulfill Andrew Green's hopeful ambition."

“I know why they redid the course with no bunkers but it was just kind of boring. Couple of good par 3s."

“Course redesigned by Andrew Green without any sand bunkers. Interesting but definitely didn't lessen the challenge as the grassy hillocks were nasty if you were in them. Sometimes it was a little difficult to visualize the defenses at the green complexes and know where to avoid, but playing the course multiple times would obviously alleviate that issue."
