“One of D.C.'s elite clubs, Columbia was designed by 1911 on a tight, small property. It's pretty amazing what Travis was able to fit on such a small property and there's plenty of elevation change here. While not terribly long, Columbia is only a par 70 and relies on uneven lies and blisteringly fast greens to challenge better golfers. In terms of conditioning, these poa greens are some of the best putting surfaces I've ever played and the Bermuda fairways are also excellent, firm, and fast. The small property does make the course feel a bit cramped at times, but there are a number of very strong and memorable holes such as the 11th, 13th, and 18th. Rumor has it that Augusta's famous 12th is based off of the 16th at Columbia and one can see the similarities. Overall, this is a very fun classic course and the kind of place I'd love to be a member at."

“Changes in elevation and slopes create a wide range of lies and shots into greens. In the windy conditions, the extremely fast greens (13-14) created very challenging conditions. The fall colors and surround landscape offered value to the golf experience. Topography is unique for the area with the severe undulation."

“Changes in elevation and slopes create a wide range of lies and shots into greens. In the windy conditions, the extremely fast greens (13-14) created very challenging conditions. Hole designs move left, right, up and down. There were places on the course (some tees and greens along with #16 and #17 where the fit was tight for the geography. The fall colors and surround landscape offered value to the golf experience. Greens were firm and extremely fast, creating some situations were some pin positions were bordering on being unplayable. Topography is unique for the area with the severe undulation."

“A private course with some great holes that is always in good condition. Need a member sponsor to play."

“Columbia Country Club challenges a golfer with fast greens and sloped fairways. There have beautiful and varied par 3s, but several par fours left me with the same approach shot distance and shot options. The 16th and 18th holes provide a crescendo to concluding the round. Unfortunately, hole 17 feels cramped and awkward. Overall the course offers much to the discerning golfer. Their poa annua greens consistently provide excellent putting services, but the rest of the course has struggled with the heat and rain during the Washington, DC summers. Columbia changed their fairway grass type over 2022, which will help the club keep the course conditioning top notch. Columbia Country Club's golf course and experience provide an excellent venue for members and guests to enjoy."

“In the heart of DC, Columbia Country Club is one of the higher end rounds of golf in the area. A well manicured but rather short course being inside the city limits. The course offers some really rolling terrain and a couple spectacular holes like the Par-3 16th. If you get the invite, take it."

“Never thought I'd hit as many drivers as I did, but this 'shorter' course plays difficult but fair."

“This is a fine old club with a brilliant little course. It laid out on a tight piece of property. The course is in great condition and the use of the terrain is excellent."
