The Nicklaus and Jones courses are always in good shape and present architecturally interesting designs. Even for those coming from Cape Cod, it’s worth the drive.

“The Jones course at Pinehills is a good golf course that is a prime example of 90s earthmoving techniques in a pretty coastal forest setting. While its sister Nicklaus course is a bit more forgiving, the Jones course offers a bit more challenge with steep dropoffs for errant shots, especially off the tee. The best holes are those that involve carries off the tee, as the par three 5th and par five 6th tend to grace the pages of local golf media. After that, the other holes tend to blend together, which is likely not helped by the ubiquitous 30-foot cape pines bordering every hole, or the Rees greensites and bunkering, which trend towards the copy-and-paste variety."

“Good, solid public Rees Jones design in Plymouth, Massachusetts that also boasts a Jack Nicklaus design. The golf course was in fine condition and had big, smooth greens and wide, welcoming fairways. The pace of play was tremendous on a Saturday morning (less than 4 hours behind numerous foursomes)!!! The staff was quite welcoming. Definitely worth a visit."

“Pinehills features two courses - one from Jack Nicklaus and one from Rees Jones. Both are well-conditioned and challenging and certainly among the best public options in Massachusetts. The Jones course lacks memorable architectural features in my opinion but is definitely worth the play for those in the area."
