“Bass Rocks is one of four Herbert Leeds designs. The other three? Myopia, Palmetto, and Kebo Valley. Decent. This course is a hidden gem tucked away up on beautiful Cape Ann nestled right on the Atlantic Ocean. Shorter by today's standards, tipping out just over 6,000 yards, but that doesn't mean it can be easily overpowered. Coastal winds and small, tricky greens make this lap enjoyable and different each time through. Their signature hole, the par 4 11th, looks out at Thacher Island, more commonly known as The Twin Lights. Members tell you to "split the lighthouses" and this is coincidentally the club's logo. The club continues to improve the course as their only par 5, the 7th, recently went under the knife to address a green that was not overly receptive to going for it in 2. A laid back loop with a ton of character. Get there if you get the chance."
