“Course is set alone on opposite side of street from main clubhouse which adds a unique setting where no cars are visable from the golf course. Although being on a smaller piece of property, the holes are laid out in a way that allows the landing areas to be generous and create interesting angles and strategy off the tee. The valleys that run through the course are incorporated in very visually appealing ways and together with the relatively significant elevation changes, make the topography of the course fairly unique for the Chicagoland area. it is evident that recent renvations have focused on reclaiming areas of greens that have shrunken in over the years which has allowed for a distinctive rounded squared shape to reemerge. The green expansions have also yielded additional pinning locations adding to the possible variety and allowing for balls to funnel off the edges of the greens towards the center. The 4 hole stretch from 12 - 15 is the most interesting on the course with a par 4 that plays over a dried riverbed on the approach leading to the par 5 which from the fw plays extremely downhill to the greensite build in a natural ampetheatre well below the rest of the course. Then the short par 3 coming back up the hill presents an incredibly sloped green making accuracy and distance control improtant to have a shot at par. The 15th tee shot then plays uphill again to a blind landing area returning to the level of the remainder of the course. The course also opens with 5 and closes with 4 consecutive par 4s which concentrates the intrigue of the par 3s and 5s to the middle 9 holes of the course. The opening and closing holes however offer sufficient variety to not allow this fact to be overly focused on."

“Highly recommend playing Lake Shore Country Club if you get the chance. Old school vibes throughout the course. Par 3s are fantastic and scoreable. Many risk-reward opportunities out here, but get in the wrong position off the tee and it can lead to high numbers. Enjoy every minute you can if you can play this course!"

“Lake Shore CC is not an overly long golf course, but between conditioning and playability, that is what makes it a fun course to play. Many courses have begun to remove trees and clean up the course around greens and allow for more playing options around the greens, offering options for bump and run, or flop shots. Lake Shores greens are medium size to smaller greens, and were in excellent condition, as was the rest of the golf course. The par 5's are reachable in two, with two good shots, but do have some trouble areas near the greens to cause some problems if the approach shot is not hit well. There are a variety of par 4s that are shorter and longer, that require a variety of irons into the green. The 17th hole is a short hole, but they have added some bunker rows down the right side that can cause problems for an approach to a very small green."
