“Opened in 1899, Bobby Jones held the course record for a number of years. Holes 14-18 is one of the best finishing gauntlets you’ll find."

Review

“Flossmoor CC is a wonderful and historic golf course, designed by Herbert Tweedie, and recently renovated (2009) with a view towards restoring character by Raymond Hearn. The course has a great variety of holes despite a property that is not very dynamic, as thoughtful bunkers, hazard placement, and lightning-fast greens provide interest and challenge. Much of the front nine plays over flat ground, but the inward nine moves down/up/through a shallow valley that provides a ton of interest, including a completely blind approach at #12. The finish was the best part of the course for me, all played through a wide bowl beneath the clubhouse, with a long downhill par four, a short iron par four, the ball-busting uphill par four of 450 yards, and a reachable par five to end the round."
