The Scandinavian Golf Club: New
Overview
Robert Trent Jones Jr. and Bruce Charlton unveiled the New course at the Scandinavian Golf Club in 2011, one year after its predecessor. Laid out in similar fashion to its sister course, the New course rewards accuracy and forces players into risk-reward decisions on almost every hole. Fairways are rarely laid out straight in front of the player as they snake around hazards and thick tufts of native grasses. Classic Robert Trent Jones Jr. bunkering shrinks popular landing areas and visually intimidates players, while the creeping bentgrass greens roll over substantial undulations. Much like its partner course, the New course ends with a reachable but challenging par 5. The finishing hole here has water up the entire left side and a peninsula green jutting out into a lake.
