“The Country Club at Castle Pines is set on an extreme piece of land with massive elevation changes throughout the routing. There are some truly distinctive holes at this course. No greater example than the par-5 5th hole, which features a fairway split by a group of pine trees, more pine trees encroaching on the left side of the 2nd shot, and a unique bunkerless green complex with a long, deep green that falls off on the left and right sides. The extreme uphill par-4 9th and multi-level green par-3 17th are other interesting conversation starters. What is not up for debate is the beauty of the Colorado Rocky Mountain surroundings and the course's excellent conditioning."

“Lots of elevation change... dramatic views and great use of trees to protect angles for driving and approaches."

“Designed by Jack Nicklaus on unique hilly/mountainous land near Castle Pines GC, the Country Club at Castle Pines is scenic and challenging. Numerous downhill tee shots to generous fairways lead to challenging second shots to well protected greens, reflecting the Nicklaus style at the time the course was designed. Despite a couple questionable holes such as the massively uphill 9th, Castle Pines CC is worth visiting if in the area."

“Nice private club high in the mountains. Good elevation changes, good conditioning, several strategic holes. Need a member to sponsor you to play."

“The views are great, but the property is pretty severe for golf. Club selection is tough and the greens are still really firm from the recent re-do."
