Overview
Originally founded by the Canadian Pacific Railway, Shaughnessy Golf and Country Club was founded in 1911 as Shaughnessy Heights Golf Club, hosting exhibitions for celebrated golfers such as Bobby Jones and Babe Didrikson Zaharias, then moved sites in the 1960s and settled on its current name. A.V. Macan designed the current course with redesigns and tweaks by Geoffrey Cornish. The club has hosted four men’s Canadian Opens, the most recent coming in 2011, as well as the women’s Canadian Open in 2023, won by Meghan Khang.
