“As munis go (this one is owned by the city of Walnut Creek, managed by CourseCo) this is a quality, classic track approaching its 50th anniversary. Hilly but walkable, the holes follow the contour, so there's no ridiculous elevation changes. Maintenance is above average. Green surfaces are generally good, although because of warm summer temps they tend to be soft in the height of summer. Some bunkers need to have the sand redistributed, although all were renovated within the last few years with good drainage added. The course holds up fairly well in wet weather. Several greens have slopes severe enough that if the maintenance staff is not careful with hole location balls will not come to rest, which can be aggravating to say the least. If you have reason to be east of the Caldecott Tunnel, Boundary is one of your best daily fee options. Boundary fairways are slowly succumbing to kaikuyu grass invasion, particularly holes closer to the clubhouse. Playable when trimmed to fairway height, diabolic as rough or cut super tight near greens"
