“Torreon (Tower course) is an enjoyable and challenging tour through a high elevation Arizona pine forest. The course features some severe doglegs, lots of elevation changes (though none are severe), double fairways, double doglegs, and more than a handful of forced carries to greens guarded by hazards. Although the course is quite scenic, the overall vibe is rustic and rough-hewn—this is not an overly manicured, pristine, private club experience. The golf is certainly not stress-free, with some tough decisions that need to be made on occasion, but if you hit the ball straight enough and have decent distance control of your irons, you can do well here. The greens are fun and challenging, with tremendous design variety. This is a great place to retreat from the heat of Phoenix or Tucson if you prefer your hazards to be trees rather than cacti."

“Championship caliber layout. Tree lined, but fair. Really good bunkering and green complexes requiring precision tee to green. One of the best courses in the White Mountains."
