“The Torreon Cabin course presents a great mix of strategic and heroic golf, with a number of optional forced carries from the tee that could set up great birdie or eagle putts, but with many hazards lurking. Ponds and running water are found throughout the course, and many green sites are set hard upon these hazards. The front nine has 3 par 3s, 4s, and 5s; as a result, you don’t play back-to-back holes with the same par rating until holes 13–15. A typical hole is a forced carry over a hazard with the green set along the hazard. There are bunkers behind the green to catch people who play it too safe, where they will often find their ball in a downhill lie to a narrow green with a hazard immediately behind it. The first two holes are great, with big strategic decisions about how to navigate around and over the stream. The dramatically downhill dogleg right 450 yard par-4 8th hole is gorgeous and calls for a running approach that avoids the big drop off just behind the green. The 18th, with cascades of water down the entire left side, is a strong finishing hole that requires two excellent shots."

“Great layout with really good conditioning. Greens were in spectacular form. High elevation course with tree lined fairways, ball carries further in the thin air. One of the best (along with its sister Tower course) in the White Mountains."

“Great semi-private mountain courses, good services. Well-kept secret that is open to outsiders as well."
