Overview
Designed by Jay Morrish, this par-71 championship course is known for its natural beauty and intricate layout among the Sonoran Desert foothills. As players navigate boulder formations and elevation changes throughout their rounds, they are likely to spot some unique wildlife: bobcats, coyotes, and even javelina lurk among the scenic desert terrain. In June 2022, the course broke ground on a four-month bunker and greens renovation project. The greens, in addition to being expanded to their original shape and size, were resurfaced with TifEagle Bermuda.

“Great views of boulder piles. Greens in bad shape. Could be a lot better."

“Play somewhere else. Course was average, staff was ok (the one beverage cart girl was super friendly and helpful but the other one I thought was going to stab me and take my wallet). Waaaaaaay overpriced. Ridiculously overpriced. Not even close to worth it. Can go play a muni for 1/10th the price and get a similar experience (maybe better). I guess the only saving grace is that the grass was green, and at least they had on course hospitality carts. Starter guy was nice. Greens were stimping at a solid 8 or 11, depending not the hole. Can't believe the place was struggling that bad with how much they charge. Stay away, go play somewhere else."

“A well-conditioned desert course. The holes go through a great-looking residential area. There are some wonderful risk/reward holes. The greens were fun and fast. If you are in the Scottsdale area, this is a fun place to play."

“This is a well conditioned course in an upscale resort. The course is interesting if not architecturally compelling. It is a nice place to spend a few days."

“Holes #4-8 deliver fantastic shot options as well as aesthetic magnificence with several 30' boulder top tee boxes. A subtly stunning waterfall behind 10 green adds to an otherwise tame back nine that seems to get away from the courses namesake."

“An excellent resort course throughout the scattered boulders common to this part of Scottsdale. In very good condition when I played it. The course is well laid out and keeps the player in the game all the way around. I really enjoyed playing here and will be back."

“In my personal opinion, the South course is the better of the two courses on the property. A little more elevation change and more interesting green complexes make it a better round than on the North. Overall a very good "resort" experience. Feels at times that you are on the set of "The Flintsones" - which adds to the fun factor."

“Clubhouse is a nice facility with great views from the grill deck. Jay Morrish has done a great job on the South course. Your approach shot on the 1st hole shows you why the Boulders name is a great fit. Hole variety is exceptional with a great playable feel for wide bandwidth of handicaps. Conditioning was excellent."

“A classic desert design where accuracy, both length and direction, are required to score well. Very scenic views of the rock formations and beauty of the desert will keep your attention while the challenging design will need your razor focus."
