The older of the two 18-hole courses at the Boulders, the North Course presents stunning views of Black Mountain as it weaves throughout the rugged desert landscape. Also a Jay Morrish design, this track boasts bentgrass greens and several holes that are nestled tightly within ancient rock formations.

“The North Course at The Boulders Golf Club offers a scenic and enjoyable desert round set among massive granite boulders and rolling Sonoran terrain. The fairways provide room off the tee, but natural rock outcroppings and desert washes frequently come into play, rewarding accurate shot placement. Approach shots are especially important, as the greens are well protected and often elevated, requiring solid distance control. Subtle elevation changes and well-placed risk-reward opportunities add variety without making the course feel overly demanding."

“I played the NORTH Course at The Boulders Resort in N. Scottsdale after their 6-month remodel. According to the club they laser-leveled the tee boxes and rebuilt the greens with new TifEagle grass. They also said that the bunkers had been re-done. The day that we played, the greens were amazingly slow, running at a 7. Bumpy, hard and very uneven throughout the course. We played from the Member Tees and hit 17/18 greens in regulation. There was not 1 ball mark left on these "new" greens. The tee boxes may have been laser-leveled but that seemed to be the extent of the remodel in my opinion. The bunkers were rock-hard, surrounded with weeds around most of the edges and lacking any depth of sand. The conditioning of the course has been dramatically reduced as it appears that the staff is no longer maintaining the natural areas as we saw numerous dead tress / plants throughout the course. Having not been back to The Boulders for 2+ years, I was very surprised to see this once beautiful "resort-style" course reduced to its current level of conditioning."

“The slightly less compelling of the two courses on the property. Higher end resort course and therefore must expect to pay higher greens fees. Good deals in the off season. Also, the course can play a little wet with the heavy watering needed to keep it green in the desert."
