Overview
The Tom Lehman-designed Sonoran course at Omni Tucson National is a traditional desert-style layout with beautiful views of the Santa Catalina Mountains. The Sonoran course offers wide landing areas and large greens, making it a player-friendly option. The course defends itself with well-placed fairway bunkers and undulating greens.

“If target golf is your thing, you'll enjoy the Sonoran course at Omni Tucson. Lots of waste areas surrounding most holes. The course was very short overall. Generous landing areas on most holes. Only three par 5's on the course and several par 4's seemed a little chopped up with waste areas across the fairways and in front of the greens. Course is relatively flat except for a few holes on the back side. Conditions are not as good as the Catalina course at the resort. Great practice facilities and a welcoming staff made for an enjoyable day of golf."

“Some good elevation changes on this course with some undulating fairways that is very different from the sister course on this property. Fifteenth hole is a severe uphill par 5."

“Very challenging bunkering --both fairway and greens which enhance shot accuracy. Greens generally elevated and contoured."

“Course has too many very steep, poorly designed golf holes. Play the Catalina Course which is much better."

“Of the two courses at Tucson National, the Sonoran offers more stunning views. The 3rd hole, with the mountains in the background, is a fabulous downhill par 3 framed by the desert. Unfortunately, even with a few other strong holes, the Sonoran has too many short par 4s where you are a bit handcuffed off the tee and quality shots are not necessarily rewarded. Despite this, the firm and fast conditions coupled with several birdie opportunities still provide a fun desert golf experience."

“Solid resort course, the valley holes mid-round are the highlight of the round."

“This is the upper course for The Omni Tucson. The Staff are first rate and super nice. It is a membership club so both courses alternate on which days non members can play. The Sonoran is not at the same level as The Catalina but is not to shabby on it's own. Views and elevation are its main attraction. It does not play as long as the Catalina course and is much more playable golf round. Maybe use this as a warm up to get used to the greens before venturing to the Catalina and battle where the Pros play."
