Winner's Bag: Hideki Matsuyama at the Waste Management Phoenix Open

Irons were a strength of Hideki Matsuyama’s game during the Waste Management Phoenix Open. The now two-time PGA Tour winner—after his four-hole playoff victory over Rickie Fowler at TPC Scottsdale—hit 77.8 percent of his greens with his Srixon Z 945 irons. By comparison, the field average was 61.6 percent.
The interesting tweak Matsuyama makes to most of his irons is that he places a bit of lead tape on them to achieve the feel he prefers. Sees to be working pretty well for the 23-year-old from Japan.
