In capturing his second PGA Tour title Brendan Steele came to the wire with a trio of birdies, holing putts of three, 18 and seven feet to win by one. Steele used a Scotty Cameron by Titleist Futura X7 putter to hole those putts and to post a strokes gained/putting mark of 1.636, good enough to rank ninth for the week. When Steele won the 2011 Valero Texas Open, he did so with an anchored putting stroke, which was outlawed at the start of 2016.
