2021 WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational tee times, TV coverage, viewer's guide
Justin Thomas stands with his dad while holding the trophy of the World Golf Championships-FedEx St. Jude Invitational at TPC Southwind in 2020.
With the news that the FedEx St. Jude Invitational will become the first event of the FedEx Cup Playoffs in 2022, this year’s tournament will be the last under the World Golf Championships banner. Nevertheless, this week’s WGC event at TPC Southwind will host a plethora of top-ranked players, including the brand-new Olympic gold medalist.
A jet-lagged Xander Schauffele tees off in Memphis as do the last two winners of tournament, Justin Thomas (2020) and Brooks Koepka (2019). Collin Morikawa, Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson also will be playing this week, one of two left before the tour begins the 2021 FedEx Cup Playoffs. (World No. 1 Jon Rahm will not be in the field due to his positive COVID-19 test that came right before the Olympics.)
Last year’s event featured a blistering final-round 65 from Thomas, who still needed two birdies over his final four holes to beat out Koepka, Daniel Berger, Phil Mickelson and Tom Lewis. Lewis’ T-2 finish included a nine-under-61 on Saturday, which matched the course record.
The winner of this event will receive 550 FedEx Cup points and a $1.89 million share of the $10.5 million purse.
