Starting now, you can divide the 27-year history of Kapalua hosting a PGA Tour event into two distinct eras: The pre-albatross era, which is everything before Sunday, and the post-albatross era, which is everything after Taylor Pendrith's remarkable 2 on the 520-yard par-5 fifth.

The bad news is that NBC's film crew wasn't fully set up when he came to No. 5, but the good news is they did have a camera running. It's not great quality, but it's something, so check it out:

Pendrith cut the corner on his 279-yard drive, leaving an approach of 203 yards, and as you see, he hit 6-iron and two-hopped the ball into the flagstick, and from there into the hole.

It's the first albatross on tour in 2025, and it boosted Pendrith from 17 under to 20 under for the tournament. He added a birdie on 8, and as of current writing, he's playing No. 12 and tied for fourth place—well behind Hideki Matsuyama—but set up for a nice payday nonetheless, and gaining three strokes on a single hole certainly helped his cause.

"That's actually number eight," Pendrith said after shooting 67. "Which is weird. I've got three hole-in-ones and that's number eight albatross. First one in a tournament. It was pretty cool."
