Watch four PGA Tour rookies beat Euro players' Guinness World Record for fastest hole in golf

February 06, 2018

We have long extolled the creativity and wit displayed by the European Tour's social video team; every new clip is like receiving a present on Christmas day. One of the gems from last season featured a trio of Euro foursomes attempting to break the Guinness World Record for fastest hole in golf, with a French quartet (Raphael Jacquelin, Alex Levy, Romain Wattel, and Gregory Havret) shattering the mark. Simple in premise, yes, but nevertheless a delight to watch.

With that in mind, we present this video of four PGA Tour rookies -- Tom Lovelady, Lanto Griffin, Andrew Yun and Stephan Jaeger -- trying to beat Team France at the 500-yard 17th hole at Palm Desert Country Club in California.

Kudos to the rooks on their achievement. Let's hope this spurs a response from the Euro team involving hovercrafts, parachutes and exploding greens a la Caddyshack.
