Dustin Johnson goes barefoot to hit recovery shot after his ball miraculously stays out of the water

Dustin Johnson made the final round of the 2020 Travelers Championship quite dramatic with some unforced errors down the stretch.

First, DJ pulled his tee shot out of bounds at the par-5 13th hole after he had opened up a three-shot lead, leading to a bogey, bringing seemingly every player on the course back into the tournament. He birdied the next hole, but DJ continued to make things interesting with his tee shot at the drivable par-4 15th hole.

It was remarkable DJ's ball didn't roll into the water after hitting just a foot or so above the hazard, then somehow stayed up in the thick stuff. That prevented DJ from dropping another penalty shot and gave him the chance to play the shot, though he needed to step in the water to do so. And that's exactly what he did.

We were kind of hoping DJ would play the rest of his round barefoot and with his pants rolled up like shorts, but alas, he thought better of it.

DJ followed up that barefoot chop-out with a sporty pitch shot to about 3 1/2 feet. He holed the putt to save par to maintain a two-shot lead at the time over Kevin Streelman, whom he eventually bested by one.

Remarkable guts by DJ, not panicking after that potentially costly tee shot. That ended up being a huge moment in DJ's 21st PGA Tour win, locking up a 13th consecutive season in which the 36-year-old has won.
