The Walker Cup concession prices are here and they are perfectly fair except for one item
Perhaps the sneaky best event in golf, the Walker Cup, will begin this weekend at the ultra-exclusive Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach, Calif. However, Cypress is happily opening its doors to fans, and plenty of cameras, allowing the common folk to get a glimpse at the No. 3-ranked course in America, according to Golf Digest.
As great as it will look on TV, this Walker Cup will be especially cool for those on site. Just like at the U.S. Amateur, there are no ropes separating the players from the spectators, allowing everyone to roam the fairways together, gather close around the greens and tee boxes, making for an incredibly intimate setting you can't find at big-time professional golf events.
Having said all that, it's still a fancy-schmancy place, so you'd have to imagine the concession prices would reflect that fact. Can't let the little man have too much fun.
According to some folks already on site for the practice rounds, though, it's quite the opposite. It's not quite Augusta National pricing on Masters week, but any time you can get two beers and a brat for under $30 in 2025, you're living large:
You'll notice that we specified brat over hot dog. Why? Because on no planet should a hot dog ever ... EVER ... be double-digit dollars. Are they throwing three dollops of caviar on top? Is it gold-crusted? Hell, you can get a hot dog at Yankee Stadium, where an unbelievably mid bucket of popcorn will run you $15, for $3! As my colleague Alex Myers also reminded me, you can get a pork missile AND a soda for $1.50 a Costco. Just a heinous, heinous price for a glizzy.
Other than that, though, not bad. Hard not to think you're in heaven sipping on a $9 Lagunitas while overlooking the Pacific Ocean and wishing you could swap lives with Stew Hagestad.
