2024 Valero Texas Open tee times, TV coverage, viewer's guide

With the season’s first major just a week away, quite a few of the best golfers in the world will make their way to TPC San Antonio for some final prep before Augusta National. Ten of the top 22 golfers in the world will tee it up this week at the Valero Texas Open, including Rory McIlroy, Brian Harman, Ludvig Åberg, Max Homa, Matt Fitzpatrick, Tommy Fleetwood, Hideki Matsuyama, Collin Morikawa, Jordan Spieth and Tom Kim. They'll all be trying to keep defending champ Corey Conners from becoming the event's first back-to-back wwinner since Zach Johnson in 2008-’09.

Conners won by one stroke last season at this event with a tap-in birdie on the 72nd hole to best rookie Sam Stevens. It was the second time he had been a winner at the TPC San Antonio, the first coming in 2019 when he set the course's 72-hole record at 268. It’s safe to say he’s a fan of this place.

As in years past, if the winner of this week’s event is not already in the Masters field, he will lock up a last-second spot to Augusta National. This has happened in two of the last four Valero Texas Opens, so best of luck to all of the procrastinators trying to sneak in at the last possible moment.

The winner also will receive 500 FedEx Cup points and a $1.656 million share of the $9.2 million purse.

TV Schedule

Golf Channel will carry live coverage on Thursday and Friday from 4-7 p.m. EDT. On Saturday, Golf Channel will start the coverage from 1-3:30 p.m. with NBC taking over with late afternoon coverage from 3:30-6 p.m. On Sunday, Golf Channel will carry coverage from 1-2:30 p.m. with NBC finishing up the event from 2:30-6 p.m.
