The third round of the U.S. Open at Oakmont Country Club is underway, with Dustin Johnson in sole possession of the lead at five under par early in his round.
Andrew Landry is two shots back.
"I feel very comfortable," said Landry. "I feel like this golf course suits me very well. I can just get out there and play my game. I'm not the player that's going to go out and shoot 28-under par. I've never been that guy, so I'm always the guy that's going to kind of just dink it around right there and make pars and throw in a couple birdies."
Sergio Garcia, still seeking his first major victory, is tied for third with Scott Piercy, Shane Lowry and Gregory Bourdy, two shots off the lead.
Jordan Spieth posted a two-over 72 for the round, moving to four over through 36 holes. Spieth got off to a hot start in his third round, birdieing three of his first four holes.
Jason Day concluded his second round in the morning, finishing at one-under 69. At five over, he is nine strokes off the lead and tied with Danny Willett.
Rory McIlroy got off to a hot start, shooting a 31 on his front nine (the back nine at Oakmont). He finished at one-over 71, though, including a double bogey on the last hole that would force him to miss the cut at eight over.
Others to miss the cut included Phil Mickelson (seven over), Justin Rose (eight over), Rickie Fowler (10 over) and Hideki Matsuyama (12 over).
