U.S. Open 2024: Pinehurst gave players this signature gift for making a 2 during Round 1

Pinehurst is known for their long-standing traditions and one that you may not know about is the deuce coin. It goes like this: if a player makes a 2 during their round on Pinehurst No. 2, they can take their scorecard into The Deuce, the resort’s restaurant that overlooks 18, and receive a deuce coin.

This week is no different for players competing in the U.S. Open. Pinehurst Resort shared a video of them passing out deuce coins to players that made a 2 during their first round.

In the clip above you can see Collin Morikawa, Ludvig Aberg, Patrick Cantlay, Rickie Fowler and Frederik Kjettrup receiving coins. Morikawa even received two for his two 2s yesterday on the par-3, hole 6 and the par-3, hole 17. They may not walk away with the U.S. Open trophy this weekend, but they won't leave Pinehurst empty handed.
