TGL adding women’s division in late 2026

Women’s golf is coming to TGL. The league and the LPGA announced Tuesday the creation of WTGL, which will feature LPGA stars competing in the same format as the men currently do in this, the second season of the six-team indoor simulator league created by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy.

The team match-play format will be played in the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and will begin next season, which is labeled as "winter 2026-27."

“Partnering with TMRW Sports on WTGL reflects our belief that innovation can help the game reach new fans and create greater visibility for LPGA athletes,” said LPGA commissioner Craig Kessler. “I’ve seen how new formats can engage audiences while showcasing both athlete personality and performance, and WTGL brings that spirit of innovation to the women’s game. It creates another global stage for our athletes—one that helps fans connect more deeply with them and continues to elevate the visibility and growth of women’s golf.”

Said TMRW Sports CEO and founder Mike McCarley: “Now, along with the LPGA and its athletes, we look forward to creating a stage to help showcase the stars of the LPGA. WTGL’s short-form, team golf format will engage new audiences and complement the LPGA Tour’s global appeal.”

The number of teams and specific names of players who will compete were not announced. It also not known if the women will have any competitive interaction with the men. Of note, Michelle Wie West, Serena and Venus Williams and soccer star Alex Morgan are all investors in TGL's Los Angeles Golf Club. Additional details are expected to be released in the next few months.

Season 2 of TGL started Dec. 28 and the third match of the season is tonight (Jan. 6) at 5 p.m. ET, pitting The Bay Golf Club against defending champion Atlanta Drive. The league said that the inaugural season drew one of the youngest audiences in sports and that 32 percent of its viewers ages 18-34 did not regularly watch the PGA Tour.
