Stephen Curry schools Bryson DeChambeau in game of pickup, shows why Bryson should stick to golf

Save for later

Stephen Curry is an anomaly. Very few athletes are dominant in multiple sports, especially when you’re a future Hall of Famer in one of them. And yet, Curry is a truly respectable golfer, on top of changing the face of basketball over the course of his legendary (and still ongoing) career.

Bryson DeChambeau, on the other hand … don’t expect him to be trying out for NBA G League teams anytime soon.

The two-time major champ and the two-time NBA MVP faced off in Curry’s game of choice, and we’re betting that a golf video—perhaps a "Break 50"—will be dropping on YouTube in the coming weeks. For the time being, it’s fun to watch DeChambeau feel the wrath of Curry. The same wrath that the rest of the NBA has been dealing with for over 15 years now.

What we’ve got here is a bit of showmanship from Bryson for clicks, but we don’t expect this TikTok to be that far off from what would actually happen if the two had a serious one-on-one matchup.

“Come on, Bryson. Let’s get out of here,” feels like a bit of a tease. And we hope that DeChambeau gets his chance for revenge relatively soon.

A quick note, but we’re not totally sure what Bryson’s doing with that defensive stance. Yes, he’s on his toes, which is nice. But you’re leaning way too far forward to have any balance. There’s a reason he earns his money on the golf course. He’d go bankrupt if it were on the basketball court.
