St. Jude: Berger leads Mickelson by three
Phil Mickelson remained vigilant in pursuit of his first PGA Tour victory since 2013 on Saturday, shooting a two-under 68 in the third round of the FedEx St. Jude Classic at TPC Southwind in Memphis.
Mickelson, at seven-under par, is three strokes off the pace set by leader Daniel Berger. Mickelson, along with Steve Stricker and D.A. Points, are tied for second.
Berger, seeking his first PGA Tour victory, shot a one-under par 69 to get to 10-under 200. Berger recorded a double bogey on the 14th hole, but bounced back with birdies on 16 and 17.
Brooks Koepka, tied for third coming into the round, shot one-under 69 and fell into a tie for fifth with Colt Knost and Seung-Yul Noh, four strokes off the lead.
Dustin Johnson, four back entering the third round, shot a three-over 73 to eight shots off the lead and into a tie for 19th.
Trick-shot star Wesley Bryan was tied for sixth after the second round, but struggled on Saturday, shooting an eight-over 78.
